Excel Airways

Excel Airways is a low-cost charter airline based at London Gatwick airport. The company provides short-haul and long-haul charter services, predominantly to leisure destinations.

As leisure air travel is seasonal, some staff are employed on short-term contracts. At certain times of the year, it is not uncommon for Excel Airways to receive 150-300 job-applications each day, principally via e-mail. These are primarily for cabin-crew positions, however, from time to time staff are also recruited for other vacant positions. Excel Airways use People Inc. to record information about vacancies and candidates, and to assist them in the management of their recruitment administration.

All candidates applying for positions at Excel Airways are encouraged to apply online (via Excel Airway’s web site). The current vacancies section of the web site lists their vacancies and visitors can click to view more details and apply via online application forms. The main application form has 8 steps and collects information about experience and education; it also enables candidates to submit their CV Information added via these application forms is added directly into the People Inc. system, and users are then notified via e-mail. Once held within the system, staff can shortlist candidates, arrange and manage the interview process, send job offers, and issue contracts.
