Training Employees
All employees require training at some level. It may be simply induction training designed to ensure that an employee understands the workplace and what is required of them, but some employees will also require technical training or training related to legislation. It is important to ensure that employees have an appropriate level of training to enable them to do their job efficiently and safely. Providing training for employees can also motivate them and enable them to make a greater contribution to the work they do.
Training and People Inc.
It is possible to manage staff training using the People Inc. system. A full history of training done by employees can be recorded against their record.
- The employee training history screen enables users to see at a glance the training an employee has undertaken.
- Each training record includes a status indicating whether the training has taken place, of if it is still just a planned activity.
- If an entry is a training need, it is possible to record a target date (the date by which the training should be completed).
- It is also possible to specify that a training course has been booked before it is then completed.
- If training of a particular type needs to be repeated regularly, the user can specify an expiry date for the course and the system will automatically manage their future training needs.
- It is possible to report on employee training information, for example, to show who has not done a particular course.
- Training also can be managed from the perspective of the course (rather than the employee).
- A number of training-related 'block booking' wizards are available within the system. Using these, users can assign a training need, book a group of employees onto a course, or add completed training records for a selection of people.
- Courses can be scheduled for a group of employees and it is then possible to generate training invitations etc.
- Mandatory training can be defined within People Inc. based on an employee's role. If an individual has not completed the mandatory training for their role, the system will automatically generate a training need.
