HR to Employee Ratio

Time to fill is the number of days between a position becoming available and it being filled. There are different moments within the process where the measurement could be taken, this may be from when the need for the position is identified or later in the process when the position is advertised. In order to accurately calculate the average time to fill the same method of counting days should be used for all positions.

Monitoring the time to fill is a one way in which the efficiency of a recruitment process can be monitored. It can also be an indicator of how desirable an organisation is to work for although in this case a highly popular employer may find the volume of applicants impacts on their time to fill.

The formula used in the calculation is:

HR to Employee Ratio = Total HR Staff / Total Staff
