Dismissal

This occurs when the employer chooses to end its relationship with an employee, generally against the wishes of the employee. This term is generally used to describe a separation where an employee has not met their obligations in some way. In the UK an employer must have reasonable grounds to dismiss an employee. Redundancy is a specific form of dismissal where a worker is at no fault.

Dismissal can also be by mutual agreement where both parties in a contract agree to abandon it.
