Hours Lost

Within absence management the hours an employee does not attend work are recorded as the hours lost. This amount can then be deducted from an entitlement (in the case of paid leave) or be used to calculate sick pay in the case of sickness absence.

Hours lost are used on conjunction with an employee’s salary per hour to calculate the cost of the absence.
