Human resource management (HRM) systems support a human resources department and company in the delivery of services. These systems have a wide-ranging functionality and can extend to include time and attendance and employee self service modules.

Integrated systems provide the human resources department with a single point of access to HR data and information. It is also possible for a company use a collection of independent systems to perform the same functionality.

An HR management system delivers services to both the human resource department as well as directly to other departments and employees. These systems typically contain all the functionality of a human resources information system but significantly expand on the level of functionality provided.
