Identity Card

An identity card is issued to an employee as a means of showing they are employed. Identity cards can be used to gain access to a facility or room by authenticating the user with a guard or access control system.

Identity cards can also be issued to site visitors. Visitors may be issued different coloured identity badges to indicate the day of the week that their card is valid.

The purpose of identity cards is to enhance the security of a location by providing an easy way to validate an individual’s presence and authority.

An identity card may be an RFID card with the employees’ details and photograph printed on it.
