Salary per Hour

This is the gross amount which an employee is paid for each hour they work. In the UK a national minimum wage exists based on an hourly rate.

An hourly rate can be calculated from an annual salary by dividing it by the number of hours work in the year (contractual hours).

Salary per hour is also known as an employee’s basic rate with higher rates being calculated from it.
