Trigger

Within computer programming a trigger is a piece of code which is executed due to a specific event. A trigger may be associated with a data table in order that some action is performed each time a new record is created.

A trigger may also be used as the entry point in to an HR management process. A recruitment process may begin based on the trigger event of an employee handing in their notice.
