This type of pension is set up by an employer. Employers pay an additional contribution in the scheme in addition to payments made by employees.
All employees must provide a workplace pension and automatically enrol employees. Employees are able to opt out of the scheme if they choose to. Employees must reach certain criteria to be enrolled on these schemes; the requirements are designed so that most employees can be enrolled.
